Oily skin.
MORNING SKIN CARE RITUAL: Cleansing Cream, Clarifying Toner and Clarifying Day Oil. Coverstick if needed for pimples.
EVENING SKIN CARE RITUAL: Cleansing Balm for light make-up or Soothing Cleansing Milk with medium to heavy make-up. If you don’t use makeup cleanse with your Cleansing Cream. We recommend a double cleanse if you use make-up, once to remove the make-up, dirt and dust your skin picks up during the day and a secondary cleanse to cleanse your skin, use either Cleansing Cream or Cleansing Balm for your second cleanse. Follow with Clarifying Toner and Night Serum.
Oily usually occurs in younger skin, but not always. It may be exacerbated by hot and humid weather. It may or may not be prone to acne, pimples and blackheads. It’s likely you will get an oily shine appearing by midday and longevity of your makeup may be problematic.
Did you know that harsh cleansers, that give that ‘squeaky clean’ feeling, is great for the dishes, but not your skin?
That ‘squeaky clean’ feeling means your skin’s natural pH has been disrupted, and it’s been ‘stripped’ which means it’s likely to just produce more oil to compensate. Same goes with harsh exfoliants. Harsh cleansers are overly alkaline, and your skin has a naturally acidic pH to help protect it from bacteria.
So, effective and gentle cleansing is the first step towards balancing your oily skin.
1. We recommend Cleansing Cream, which is not a make-up remover, but it is a deep cleanser which is ideal in the morning, because overnight your skin has been busy as an elimination organ, that’s why you often wake up to a new pimple, and sin also does its regeneration work overnight. Watch the Cleansing Cream application video because you use it a bit differently that what you may be used to.
Cleansing Cream Application: Mix around 1-2cm with water to make a creamy emulsion between the palms of your hands. Then ‘press and roll’ it onto your skin, moving from centre to outwards, in the direction of your lymph and repeat 2-3 times. This technique creates a suction type effect and almond meal is adept at binding to sebum and impurities.
2. Our Clarifying Toner is used by closing your eyes and misting directly onto your skin. It contains antibacterial echinacea, daisy, witch hazel and nasturtium help minimise the appearance of blackheads and pimples, visibly refine pores and reduce excessive oiliness. Anthyllis guides skin to a balanced state for a more calm, even appearance.
3. It may seem counterintuitive to use an oil for an oily skin, however in our experience, with our background in homeopathic remedies and using the guidelines of ‘like treats like’ this is the best way to help regulate your skin’s oil production. Put 2-4 drops Clarifying Day Oil in the palm of your hand, warm between your palms and then press into your skin, which is still moist from Clarifying Toner. It will fully absorb quickly.
TIPS:
Your must-have pimple product is Coverstick. Apply as soon as you see a pimple and reapply regularly.
If you use makeup, use a clean beauty Foundation. Alternatively mix a little Translucent Bronzing Tint with your Clarifying Day Oil.
Extra Care: We highly recommend once a week a Clarifying Steam Bath in your hand hot basin water with Organic Cotton Compress Cloth to soften pores, followed by Clarifying Clay Mask to further deep cleanse, remove impurities and provide gentle exfoliation. Once dry the Clay Mask is removed efficiently by re-moistening and wiping away with Cleansing Sponge. Ideally follow-up with Revitalising Mask.
